We offer you the opportunity to visit the lighthouses on Sušac, Pločica, Lastovo and Palagruža, which are located around the island of Korčula and which cannot be reached by public transport.
The lighthouse on Sušac was built in 1879 during the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph, and rises on a 100 meter high cliff from which there is a beautiful view of the entire island and open sea.
The Pločica lighthouse is located in the middle of the Korčula canal on the islet named after it because of its characteristic appearance. The lighthouse was built in 1887, has no inhabitants there, and due to its gentle nature, it is suitable for swimming and diving.
The Struga lighthouse on the island of Lastovo was built in 1839 on a 90-meter high cliff with a beautiful view. A lighthouse family has lived in it for years.
The furthest of all the lighthouses is the lighthouse on the island of Palagruža, on the so-called Diomedes Island. It was built in 1875 and two lighthouse keepers live there throughout the year. Occasional residents are Komiža fishermen who have been fishing in the area since the 14th century.
